Manage Email via Text, No App, No Dashboard, No Log-In

Managing email via text is the simplest interface you'll ever use for your inbox. Sifta connects to your Gmail or Outlook inbox and brings your most important messages into iMessage, the app you're already living in. Archive emails, flag them for follow-up, or just read the summary and move on.

The reason most inbox tools fail is not features. It is friction. A new dashboard means a new tab, a new login, a new place to check, and a new habit to maintain. Within a month, the dashboard is gathering dust and you are back in Gmail. Sifta is designed to never become that. The interface is Messages, an app you already open dozens of times a day. The actions are short text replies that take a second. There is no dashboard for you to fall behind on, no separate notification stream to manage, and no settings panel you have to remember to check. Inbox management becomes one more thing your iMessage handles for you, alongside texting your spouse and replying to friends. There is a deeper point here about how habits actually form. Productivity tools that ask you to build a new daily ritual almost always fail in the long run because human attention is not infinitely elastic. Productivity tools that piggyback on existing rituals succeed because they cost nothing extra to maintain. Sifta is the second kind. You already read iMessage notifications, you already reply to texts, and you already trust that thread for important communications from people you care about. Adding inbox triage to that same channel does not add a new behavior. It adds a new use of a behavior you already perform many times a day.

Quick Answer

Sifta lets you manage your Gmail or Outlook inbox entirely by text message, without opening an email app or learning a new tool. Important emails are summarized and sent to your iPhone via iMessage, and you can reply to archive, flag, or request a draft response without switching apps. Sifta is the only inbox management system that lives entirely inside your existing Messages app.

Sound Familiar?

×

Every new email tool requires another app to download, another dashboard to check, and another place to learn.

×

Switching context from what you're doing to open your email client costs more mental energy than the email itself.

×

When you're on the go, opening Gmail on mobile is a maze of threads, promotions, and clutter before you find what you needed.

How Sifta Fixes This

Sifta uses your existing iMessage thread as the interface, no installation required, no new UI to learn, just a message from Sifta telling you what arrived.

Reply with a number to take action: 1 to archive, 2 to mark important, 3 to flag for a draft reply. You control your inbox from the keyboard you're already typing on.

All changes sync back to Gmail instantly so your inbox reflects exactly what you've done from your phone.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to install anything? +

No app installation is needed on your phone. Sifta is a service that connects to your Gmail or Outlook inbox via OAuth and communicates with you through iMessage or SMS. Setup takes about 2 minutes.

What actions can I take from a text reply? +

Archive, mark as important, flag for follow-up, and request a draft reply. More actions are being added based on user feedback.

Is this secure? +

Yes. Sifta uses Gmail's official OAuth 2.0 authentication, which means your credentials are never stored. You can revoke access at any time from your Google Account settings.

What if I want to manage more than just the alerts Sifta sends? +

You can ask Sifta to search your inbox or retrieve specific emails by texting a command. This is in active development for the full launch.

Can I forward a Sifta alert to someone on my team? +

Yes, Sifta alerts are normal iMessages, so you can forward, share, or screenshot them like any other text. Some users forward important deal alerts to their cofounder or EA without needing them to set up Sifta themselves. The underlying email stays in your inbox, fully shareable through normal Gmail or Outlook forwarding too.
