What a VA actually does for an agent

The usual VA job list is inside sales calling, transaction coordination, CRM data entry, lead management, email and calendar, document filing and marketing support.

Look at that list again. Most of it is reading and writing: the email, the follow-up text, the CRM note, the calendar invite, the reminder to the lender. The phone calls and the document filing are the parts that need a person.

The cost that is not on the invoice

A virtual assistant still has to be told what to do, and the telling is the part agents run out of time for.

Every VA needs onboarding, a task list, access to your systems, and a daily check-in. Turnover means doing it again. A managed service reduces this but does not remove it. If you are the bottleneck now, adding a person you also have to manage can make the bottleneck worse for the first month.

Where Sifta fits

Sifta does the reading-and-writing half of the VA job without hours, onboarding or management, and it already knows your business because it reads your email.

Connect Gmail or Outlook and your calendar. Sifta reads what arrives, remembers every client and deal, drafts the lead reply in your voice, books the showing, chases the lender, pulls the comps, and logs the note to Follow Up Boss. Each morning it texts you what needs you. You never write a task list.

Sifta is not a CRM, does not make phone calls, does not run ad campaigns and does not do compliance paperwork. It does the follow-up, the chasing, the booking and the research, from the text thread you already have open. If you also need calls made or documents filed, keep a part-time VA for that and give them Sifta's morning brief as their task list. Sifta Pro is $199 a month.

Three ways to start

You can text Sifta, get a free Leak Report on your own inbox, or read the pricing page.

Text Sifta and ask it for comps on any address. Or connect your Gmail or Outlook for the free Leak Report: it reads the last 90 days and shows you the leads, offers and lender emails that got no reply. Or see pricing. Sifta Pro is $199 a month. If Sifta doesn't catch something worth more than the price in week one, you don't pay.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much is a real estate virtual assistant per hour? +

Offshore, about $9.55 to $14 an hour in 2026 depending on the role and the package. US-based freelancers run $25 to $79 an hour. Managed services price by the month instead.

Is a virtual assistant worth it for a solo agent? +

At 15 or more closings a year, usually yes, if you can spend an hour a day directing them for the first month. Below that, an AI assistant that needs no direction is often the better first hire.

Can an AI assistant replace a virtual assistant? +

For email, texts, calendar, follow-up and CRM notes, yes. For phone calls, document filing and physical tasks, no. Many agents run both: Sifta for the written work, a part-time VA for calls.

What tasks should I give a VA first? +

Give a person the tasks that need a voice or hands: calling expireds, confirming appointments by phone, filing disclosures. Give the written follow-up, the lender chasing and the CRM notes to Sifta.

Does Sifta make phone calls? +

No. Sifta works in text and email. It drafts the text reply to a lead in your voice, and you send it, until you tell it to send first replies itself. If you need a person on the phone, that is an ISA or a virtual assistant, and Sifta can hand them the context.
