What agents complain about
The five complaints that come up most in Follow Up Boss reviews, in agents' own words where we could quote them.
The phone app is slower than the desktop CRM. "Follow up boss as a browser and system is incredible.
The app is atrociously slow." (App Store review, August 2026)
The app is missing features the web version has. "doesn't have a lot of features, can't see sent emails, needs to be more like the web version" (App Store review, October 2025)
Late or missed notifications. "I've missed several important communications because the inbox doesn't notify you right away." (App Store review, April 2026)
Pricey for solo agents and small teams. Capterra reviewers say pricing can be high for solo agents and small teams, and that adding users adds up.
Unease about Zillow owning the CRM. Some App Store reviewers say they are uncomfortable with Zillow having access to their database.
Who Follow Up Boss fits, and who should skip it
Follow Up Boss fits agents and teams who already have a website and buy leads from several places, especially Zillow, and want one clean record with lead routing.
Skip it if you want the website, the ads and the CRM from one company, or you are a solo agent on a tight budget who will do the typing anyway.
The catch: the price is per user, and calling is extra on Grow. A team of five that calls pays less on Pro than on Grow.
Is Follow Up Boss worth it?
For a team that routes paid leads, yes: most of the other products we compared, from Lofty to Sierra to Ylopo, connect to it, and its G2 score is 4.6 from 118 reviews. For a solo agent paying $108 a month with calling, it is worth it only if the leads in it get worked.
What it costs: $69 per user a month; $499 a month for 10 users; $1,000 a month for 30.
Where the work still lands
Good reviews or bad, a CRM records the work. It does not do it.
FUB AI drafts and suggests inside Follow Up Boss. You still open the app, find the lead and press send, and deal work like the lender's letter or the inspection date is not what the AI is built for.
Sifta takes a different shape. There is no app and nothing to log into: it connects to your Gmail or Outlook and your calendar and works by text.
It drafts lead replies in your voice with real open times and texts them to you to approve, keeps track of the deal dates it finds in your email, pulls comps on any address you send it, books showings from the group text with your client, and sends a morning brief.
It is not a CRM, it does not make phone calls, and it does not replace Follow Up Boss. If your CRM gives you an email-in address, Sifta can copy the lead replies it sends there, so your CRM can log them. Sifta Pro is $199 a month.
